Are you serious about learning how to reduce your advertising costs?
All you have to do is follow these suggestions:
Did you know that the advertising rate sheets the reps carry are flexible? Well, they are, so negotiate for a bette price.
Ask the outlet if they will consider a trade. Small newspapers sometimes do. Many radio stations will trade for goods and services they can give away to their listeners, such as free tickets to a play or a romantic dinner.
If you can get other business owners to join with you to buy a large newspaper ad space, you can divide it up and pay less per individual ad. As an example, a whole page might cost $1,200 while a quarter page costs $400. If you buy the whole page, a 1/4 page now costs $300.
Many large corporations have co-op programs for people who sell their products. This means if you show or mention their products in your ad, they will pay for part of it. For more information, ask the ad departments of the companies you are considering doing this with.
There are many professionals who earn a living buying ad space for business owners. If you have a large enough budget, these "media buyers"can get you some good prices.
Ask your customers and prospects if you can send them regular newsletters by email. Tell them it will inform them about new products and give them tips on how to use the the ones they have more effectively. Some business owners use these newsletters to ask customers to give them feedback and ask questions.
If you want to get free publicity, send the media a press release. If they are interested in your idea, they will do a story on you for free. Being interviewed in the media also builds credibility.
If you use these tactics, you can save a lot of money. So give them a try and watch how much you save.
