Be Persistent In Your Virtual Assistant Marketing

Doing something on a regular basis becomes a habit. A habit becomes easy as you do it so often. If you can make your Virtual Assistant Marketing a half hour habit a day your business will take off. If you don't market at all your business will wither and die.

There is a simple and easy method of marketing that most marketers forget to tell you about.

The major trick is The Persistence Factor.

You may wonder what that is. Well it goes like this:

* Monday could be the day you contact a couple of clients who you have not worked with for a while to see how they and their businesses are. Just a polite enquiry is enough to remind them that you are still there and it is amazing how often that turns into work.

* On Tuesday send that interesting article you cut out of a magazine to any relevant clients with a note that you hope that it is useful

* Any day is networking day if you have a meeting you can go to. Take business cards and LISTEN to what other business people have to say. Before you leave the car park, make a note on the back of the cards as to who you spoke to and what they do. Contact them the following week on your making contact day.

* Thursday may be the day you dedicate to long standing clients. Make sure that any work you are doing is fine by them. Give them a call and if they are happy, well now is the time to ask for a testimonial. If you are short of work you could also ask if there is anything further you can do to help.

* On Friday write all this up in your diary. See if you need to contact anyone else this week and make notes for next week. Track any new work you may have got directly from this week's actions. You will see that you have made contact with many businesses, mainly while you were sitting at your desk. It took you only about half an hour a day and it may even have generated work the first week you did this. But we have not finished with the Persistence factor yet.

Now comes the real trick - you need to do this on a weekly basis.

Just think of the affect this will have if you do it week in and week out. Vary the marketing ploys you use, write articles and submit them, go to that Chamber of Commerce lunch you were always going to go to. The more you do the more likelihood there is of work coming your way. The idea is you do this 48 weeks a year even if you are busy. Make it a habit.

The Icing on the Cake

I intend to give you extra ideas to put into this mix. You can do these instead of your normal half hour daily marketing BUT you will get to reach a whole new group of people.

I have also joined overseas VA forums and made friends there. I spend about 10 minutes a day on forums and take their daily mails.

We need now to go back to the beginning. Get out your diary or Outlook and write down your ideal tasks for each day of the week. You may go to a Breakfast Meeting one day of the week, put that in as one day covered. Do not do things you hate doing. I have never cold-called for myself as I dislike it so much

The habit of doing something every day at the same time is something that many famous writers and artists have done. If you do not make your advertising a habit you will not do it, there will always be something else to do.

Be Persistent if you want to be a busy VA - once you have started you will be amazed how easy virtual assistant marketing really is.
